Sweeter Than Sugar

MY HUSBAND CAME HOME TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

These things are sweeter than sugar

1. Husbands that come home and love their families
2. Babies that smile when they see their dads.
3. Children that will spend over an hour coloring pictures to welcome their dad home.
4. 6-year-old girls who squeal knowing that they are about to see their dad.
5. Three year olds who snuggle with their dad for half and hour refusing to respond to anyone or anything.
6. Reminders of happy childhoods
7. A mother who takes the time to get excited about her daughter's project and even gets all the supplies together. Then gets all those supplies all the way to Albania

I don't have pictures of all of that, but here is what I do have.

A family attic has recently been raided and some of our childhood toys were discovered.  Remember Strawberry Shortcake dolls!  So cute.  Sweets is loving them about as much as I did when I was little.  Their scents aren't as strong though.  Maybe her grandma could bring her a new one for her b-day (hint, hint).

This is the fabric my mom bought to help me with a project I've had in the works for about 10 years.  It has mostly been in the planning stage all that time.  Stay tuned and I'll tell you more.  I just LOVE how my mom gets jazzed about what I'm excited about.  And . . . . American fabric is sooo cute.

Now I must show you what I was tempted with today.  We are trying very hard to keep a very limited list of things we want from America.  We have got it down to a special kind of floss (for teeth), cold-eeze (a magic medicine that keeps you from getting a cold), Old Spice deodorant, special hand soap for B.D. who gets REALLY chapped hands, and my husband's special shaving cream.   However, Andi did say he would bring some rootbeer, which I couldn't refuse.  While he was gone my kids also remembered Reese's Peanut Butter cups and those were "ordered".  Andi only brought three.  They haven't had any since Christmas 2009.  B.D. and Sweets ripped them open and inhaled.

Super Jack was standing in a corner begging for someone to open his.  I went to his aid.  Once opened he looked at if funny, but seeing how Sweets and B.D. had reacted shoved it in his face.  My little boy doesn't know about peanut butter cups.

After reading my blog yesterday my husband was encouraging the kids to get the wrappers in the trash.  They didn't all make it.

I can live without it.

My waist was down to 36 1/8" this morning - told you.

  1. You're going to have one heck of a week with Maddie coming for a visit this week... you should space out people traveling from America a little better Like you have any control! =ˆ)

    Awesome job on resisting!!

  2. I'm having too much fun reading all your foreign adventures. I had to post about the Reese's. They are the thing I have trouble avoiding. I can't resist them.
